Behind The Build

This project involved the transformation of a Californian bungalow constructed in the 1910s, which stood as the worst house on its street. Despite its condition, the structure had strong foundational elements and potential for a great transformation. The renovation process involved a complete overhaul, starting from the ground up. The house was re-leveled, and new weatherboard cladding enveloped its entirety, accompanied by fresh hardwood timber lead-light windows. To enhance its aesthetic appeal, a striking featured gable was incorporated into the facade.

Embracing the contemporary preferences of the neighborhood, the project included a modern extension. Recycled bricks, hardwood timber floors, and natural stone were chosen to maintain harmony with the area's prevailing design ethos. Through meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality materials, the project breathed new life into the historic bungalow, seamlessly blending modern sophistication with timeless charm.
